Hello everyone!

Behind Knittory is crochet & knit maker/designer Victoria Hernandez.

Born in 1991 in the Bay Area of California, Victoria grew up in a loving Puerto Rican family. She credits her mother (an abstractionist artist) for her creative drive and her father (a retired military officer and PhD graduate) for her ambition.

In 2018, partially on a whim and partially to help anxiety, she started teaching herself how to knit and crochet simultaneously. Instantly hooked--she hasn't stopped since!

Fast forward to late 2020, Victoria immigrated to England from the USA in order to be with her English partner. While living in England, she decided to embark on a journey that has actually intimidated her for a long while: finding meaning in what she does, the pursuit of happiness, and putting herself out there to make her dreams a reality. And so, a tiny business--derived from her creativity and love for bringing joy to others--was born.

Combine this with her love of fiber arts, animals, plushies...all things sparkly-kawaii-spooky-nerdy too and well, you have a recipe for something whimsical.

Although she does not consider herself an expert just yet, she's more than happy to showcase her journey as she learns more in the world of fiber arts, small business, and content-making.

Her ultimate dream is to mesh her love of fantasy/magic and eclectic personality with something fresh and unique in the world of amigurumi* design. And one day, she will work her way up to having a magical, sparkly storefront for the wonderful land of Knittory!

If you'd like to come along on this journey, follow @Knittory on Instagram as Victoria discovers more of herself and what she can offer you all!

*Amigurumi is the Japanese art of knitting or crocheting small, stuffed yarn creatures.

Victoria's Questline

The start of a yarn addiction

August 2018

Victoria starts to teach herself how to knit and crochet simultaneously because she's up for the challenge, and it is extremely therapeutic!  She tried and failed and tried again, rinse and repeat, until she got the hang of it. She also bought yarn...way too much yarn.

Knittory Phase 1

August 2021

Victoria was surrounded by projects she had stored away and an itch to delve deeper into the business side of things.

The ideas had been repeatedly appearing in her thoughts: things she wanted to accomplish, things she was very passionate about, and things she wanted to share with the world! So, with the support of her husband and family, she makes a formal decision to take it to the next level and allow "Knittory" to finally grow some roots, not only as a personality, but a shop as well!

Knittory's Facebook page, Instagram, and other social media sites are born, and Knittory.com comes to life...

Yarn accumulation at this point is beyond life expectancy.

Phase 2 is Ongoing!

February 2022

What an amazing rollercoaster it has been in the start of 2022! Victoria published her first original pattern, and had her first collaboration with another business. Social media presence has increased, and her confidence is boosted! She can't wait to bring more to the table and register Knittory as a limited company and trademark "Knittory" next <3

Knittory LTD is Born

June 2022

A HUGE step! Knittory is now a registered private company in the UK. So much work to do now, but we are beyond excited ^_^

Christmas Market

December 2022

Knittory makes its first appearance as a Christmas market stall in Yorkshire! The little market was a success and paves the way for the confidence needed to do more.

Build-a-Plushie Listings are born!

January 2023

After some time on Etsy, Victoria has discovered that customers love custom listings. Frogs are particularly popular and more "Build-a-Plushie" listings are in the works.
